Texturing

Render
Once the model and texture is completed, I export the OBJ and send it off to the next stage in the cosmetic production pipeline: rigging and animation. Danny van Zoomerman, BLC's in-house animator, breathes life into the models I create, ensuring they are store-quality and ready to hit the digital shelves. All animation and rendering work (like the advertisement below) is done with assets provided by me and other artists on the team.

Themed Marketing Campaigns
Although a majority of my work consists of one-off models, occasionally the entire creative team collaborates to create a single themed marketing campaign. In mid-2024, we created the 'Steampunk' set, containing custom capes, models, and marketing materials. I was responsible for planning and modeling all the custom pets/wearables provided to the marketing and animation team.

Player Companions
One of the most popular styles of our cosmetics was pets: little critters that sit on a player's shoulder. After looking at sales records, we determined a 'cute' style of modeling was the most economically advantageous, so I utilized that in the designs I provided to Danny to render and animate.

Cross-team collaboration
Some cosmetic sets require weeks - or even months - of planning before they enter our store. From brainstorming, to concept art, to approving the idea with upper management, instructions may pass many hands before I am assigned to create the 3D model. For the pet below, 'Arcade Manta Ray,' I was provided pre-approved concept art and tasked to bring the idea to life with texturing.

Concept Artists: Provide the sketch

Modelers: Translate to an OBJ

Animators: Finalize the rigging

Marketing: Create the advertisements
communicating with Client Partners
I had the privilege of working one-on-one with popular influencers and gaming content creators partnered with BLC to create custom cosmetics to be purchased by their fanbase. This often provides freedom to explore styles outside of the standard BLC guidelines, as creators each have their own unique visions as to what products they want to sell to their viewers.

Creative Freedom
Due to the consistent popularity and strong sales of my work, I was often granted full creative freedom to design and pitch cosmetic sets without departmental approval.
