Capturing Beauty
FACET magazine focuses on the science and history of crystallography. Its design is sleek, clean, and modern, drawing inspiration from the structured, categorical arrangement of specimens in a museum setting. The layout emphasizes clarity and precision, ensuring the content is both visually engaging and easy to navigate.
Photography
Using a studio lighting setup, I photographed crystal specimens in high resolution with a Canon camera. Given the magazine’s scientific focus, accuracy was essential. Post-processing ensured precise color representation, while strategic photography minimized glare and unwanted reflections for a clear, detailed depiction of each sample.
Promotional Film
In addition to the magazine design itself, I also directed and produced a short promotional video highlighting its content and showcasing notable specimens.
