Buoys Adrift: A Community Flotsam and Jetsam Gallery
People's Choice Award
As part of a community art initiative hosted by the Homer Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies in partnership with the National Science Foundation’s NCAR Traveling Climate Exhibit, Resilient Earth – Resilient Communities, artists were invited to transform buoys collected from Alaskan beaches into works of art exploring climate resilience, human impact on the sea, and our evolving relationship with marine environments. My piece, which addressed the issue of Yelloweye rockfish bycatch, received the People’s Choice Award out of dozens of submissions and is now on display at NSF NCAR’s iconic Mesa Lab in Boulder, Colorado.
Prism Magazine: Horizons/Crossroads
Published Artist 2023/24
Orange Media Network's 'Prism' magazine curates a bound collection of student artwork each year, continuing a tradition that spans decades. Submissions must align with that year’s theme. For two consecutive years, multiple pieces of my sculptural work were selected for the Crossroads and Horizons editions, and I presented them at the publication ceremonies following each release.
Memorial union Concourse: Transitions
CUrated showcase
The mission of the Memorial Union Concourse Gallery at Oregon State University is to line up a diverse schedule of art exhibits, in a variety of genres that reflect the broad and diverse interests of the OSU and greater Corvallis community. Three of my sculptural narrative pieces were selected for the 2024 curated showcase 'Transitions.'
Potential Spam – A Zine Exhibition
Third Place Designer
At the Corrine Woodman Gallery, the inaugural zine exhibition transformed the space into an interactive reading room featuring over 50 zines from across the country. My zine, 'Nothing to Worry About,' earned third place, showcasing my publication design skills. Selected by juror Evan Baden of Push Pull Editions, the exhibition celebrated independent publishing and self-published storytelling, and my contribution reflected a blend of narrative, visual experimentation, and ironic parody of the state of social media.
InnovationX Entrepreneurship Showcase
Runner Up
As part of a school team for the 2024 InnovationX Oregon State Entrepreneurship contest, I worked with accountants, administrators, marketers, and data analysts as our chief product designer and creative director. Together, we researched, developed, and pitched a new product called 'CaloSync' to a panel of experienced alum and business owners. Competing against more than 40 teams, our creative direction and presentation earned us a second-place finish.
Fairbanks Gallery: Typography Showcase
Curated Showcase
My typographic event branding was showcased in the Fairbanks Building Gallery at Oregon State University. For the HALFTONES Conference, my poster work demonstrated an ability to create effective branding and clear typographic hierarchy.
